Kodiak Armoured Command Vehicle

Introduced in Dropzone Commander

The Kodiak armoured command vehicle is an extensively modified version of the Bear which foregoes transport capacity in favour of a battlefield command centre. This provides a mobile base from which a UCM commander and staff can direct frontline operations.

The Kodiak features a large communications dish and electronic warfare suite mounted on a dedicated trailer allowing the Kodiak to conduct high fidelity ground-orbit communications at a robust level of encryption. In the most desperate of situations, this gives the Kodiak the option to direct tactical directed energy orbital strikes.

The Kodiak is also equipped with much thicker armour than the basic Bear, providing excellent protection to the crucial assets it contains, making the Kodiak the AHQ's only sensible choice for a frontline command centre.

'Call it in': An orbital strike suffers a +1 penalty to its accuracy value (to a maximum of 6+) if fired against a target which has moved this turn or last turn. Infantry inside a building cannot be targeted directly with this weapon, though the building itself can be targeted.

Indirect weapons can choose to target an enemy squad that they cannot draw line of sight to, provided any other friendly unit can draw line of sight to it. However, it then suffers a +2 penalty to its Accuracy unless a friendly Scout unit can draw line of sight to the target.

Multiply damage inflicted by the X value for targets of the Type specified. Critical Damage rolls double the multiplier value, except for Scenery.

Indirect Fire weapons may fire over scenery which normally blocks line of sight but suffers a +2 penalty to Accuracy. It may only fire if the target is in line of sight of ANY other friendly unit. If the friendly unit is a Scout, then the +2 Accuracy penalty is ignored.

Multiply the damage inflicted against a structure by the X value.
